Heidi the Little Doll is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern. The pattern is written in English using US terms and my finished Heidi measures 17cm (6 1/2 inches) tall. Your crochet tension, yarn and hook size used will determine the size of your finished item.
Materials:
2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
4ply yarn/fingering
Less than 50g yarn in NUDE, PURPLE, ORANGE and LILAC
7mm safety eyes
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Polyester toy stuffing
Stitch marker
2 x clear hair ties (optional)
Notes:
A yarn with no stretch is best for amigurumi, I ordinarily use cotton or cotton blend.
Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round (unless it says otherwise).
For this pattern, the following yarns were used:
o NUDE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in colour “003 Nude”
o ORANGE = Scheepjes Catona in colour “524 Apricot”
o PURPLE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in colour “39 Purple”
o LILAC = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in colour “40 Light Purple”
I crochet loosely and use a 2.5mm hook with 4ply yarn. Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight to keep stuffing from showing and for any attachments to stay in place.
I have used safety eyes for this pattern but you may embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
