US English pattern by Alter Ego Crochet. Includes step-by-step pictures.

NO SEW PATTERN (everything is crocheted together except the eyes, but you can use bigger safety eyes instead if you want it to be entirely without attaching)

The cute little whale surprise can fit up to 8 tiny whales inside. If you want to make it for small kids, I'll recommend using bigger yarn (i.e. velvet yarn) so that they can easily pull the tiny whales out.


YOU’LL NEED:

- Crochet hook: 2.5 mm
- Yarn: I’ve used 8/4 cotton / ply fingering weight (170 m / 50 g) (2 g in 8 different colors for the mini whales and 36 g grey for the big whale)
- Yarn needle
- Stuffing
- 16 x 6 mm safety eyes
- 2 x 10 mm safety eyes


STITCHES USED:

Mr - magic ring
Sc - single crochet
Ch - chain
Slst - slip stitch
Dc - double crochet
Hdc - half double crochet
Inc - increase
Dec - decrease


SIZE:

The big whale will be 10 cm / 4 in and the small whales 3 cm / 1 in if you use same yarn and hook size as me. You can use other sizes and/or yarn if you want a bigger or smaller result.

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, double crochet
Measurement: The big whale will be 10 cm / 4 in and the small whales 3 cm / 1 in
