US English pattern by Cara Engwerda. Includes step-by-step pictures.
Elroy the Astronaut Bunny is part of my "Out of this World" collection and is also available in my E-BOOK (sold separately).
Elroy inspired the collection. I was determined to design an astronaut that was a little bit unique. Throwing in some 'bunny' was just right!
Elroy is an easy amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Elroy is approx. 15cm tall.
You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).
You will need:
- 4ply yarns/Fingering or Sport > 25g of WHITE, a small amount of BLUE, RED, PINK, FAWN and LIGHT BLUE
- BLACK embroidery thread or 4ply yarn
- 7mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually worked in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- I’ve used the following yarns:
o WHITE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 001 White
o BLUE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 076 Royal Blue
o RED = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 058 Red
o PINK = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 043 Baby Pink
o FAWN = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 089 Almond
o LIGHT BLUE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 077 Light Petrol Blue
Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, back loops only
Measurement: 15cm tall
