Birds come in all shapes and colors, so why not build yourself a rainbow of tropical birds?! In this pattern you'll find instructions to make your own Tropical Bird and different options for customizing to make it your own. See actual birds for color references, like the Scarlet Macaw or Yellow-crested Cockatoo, or create your own tropical bird.

The main part of this project is worked in rounds so you might want to use a stitch marker to mark the end of each round. There is no specific gauge for this project, just try to keep it tight and even throughout each piece. Tropical Bird is worked with the “x” single crochet technique (yarn under, yarn over). Make sure to also start the other stitches with yarn under to keep the same tension throughout.

Materials

- For Nature Rosários4, 100% organic cotton yarn, 50g / 137m, in White, Yellow, Red, Blue, and Black (or other desired colors)
- 2.5mm crochet hook
- Toy stuffing
- Yarn needle
- Scissors

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, double crochet, starting an oval piece with a foundation chain
