Meet Tiny Alexander the Frog (or Alex, for short). It wouldn’t be a great leap to say that this little frog is one of the hoppiest there is!
Alexander can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through.
I’ve made samples in two different sizes. The worsted weight version is made using a 4.0 mm (G) hook and Knit Picks Brava Worsted in 2 different colors. The DK weight version is made using 2.25 mm (B) hook and Paintbox Yarn Cotton DK in 1 solid color. You only need a small amount of each color; perfect for using up scraps!
Tiny Alexander the Frog is an advanced beginner-level pattern. The pattern is 6-pages long and has plenty of progress photos to help you along your way to making your own rather floppy frog.
Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, back loops only, front loops only, bobble stitch
Measurement: 4-6" tall (10-15 cm, head-to-toe)
