AXOLOTL IN A VEST is a new version of my old Julio pattern, my tribute to this magical Mexican creature. I took his name from the lovely short story “Axolotl” written by Julio Cortazar.

Axolotl comes from Náhuatl (Aztec language) and they are known as “water monsters”. They have an average life of 15 years (although they can live up to 25 years). They are solitary and elusive, and capable of limb regeneration!

If crocheted with the suggested hook and yarn, Julio´s size is 30cm long (12inches)

The pattern is suitable for both beginners and more experienced crafters.

The pattern includes both a crocheted and knitted vest so you can choose the one you are more comfortable with.

Required skills for this pattern: magic loop, crocheting in a spiral, color-changing, increase, decrease, and the basic crochet stitches, single crochet, and double crochet.
