US English pattern by Pepika. Includes step-by-step pictures.

The crochet pattern includes a Mama whale, a Baby whale, and a lifebelt.

Format: PDF document of 11 pages with detailed instructions and lots of images.

Skill level: The pattern requires intermediate amigurumi crochet skills, but it's easy to follow.

Whales can be made of any kind of yarn. I used cotton yarn (sport category) and a 2.5mm steel crochet hook. The finished Mama measures about 5" (15 cm) in length, the Baby whale 3" (7 cm) in length, and the lifebelt 2.5" (6.5 cm) in diameter.

If done with worsted weight yarn and F crochet hook approx. measurements: mama whale 7" (17.5 cm), baby whale 3.5" (9 cm), lifebelt 3.5" (9 cm).
