Crochet Pattern: Lil’ Puss In Boots

The most anticipated crochet pattern is finally here! I know many of you have been asking for this pattern and we sincerely apologise for the long wait. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this pattern and make really cute Lil’ Puss(s). He is approximately 15cm tall (17cm with his hat on) and 9cm wide. Materials:

• Yarn(s) - Golden Orange, Black, Red, White and Pink 8ply Acrylic Yarn. 
• Crochet Hooks - Size 3.0mm 
• Yarn Needle or Normal Needle 
• Golden Orange, White, Black Tapestry Thread or Yarn 
• Fiberfill 
• 1 pair of 13mm Safety Eyes
• Small amount of white felt
• Fabric Glue
• Stitch Marker or Safety Pin

Note:

1. This pattern works in continuous rounds (instead of joined rounds).
2. The Hat - red string and Belt work in Rows.

Head, Body and Boots:

Golden Orange, Black and Red Yarn.

Starting with golden orange yarn. Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12) Rnd 3: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (18) Rnd 4: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (24) Rnd 5: *sc 3, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (30) Rnd 6: *sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (36) Rnd 7-15: sc around. (36) Rnd 16: *dec 1, sc 4*, repeat around. (30) Rnd 17: *dec 1, sc 3*, repeat around. (24) Rnd 18: *dec 1, sc 2*, repeat around. (18) Rnd 19: *dec 1, sc 1*, repeat around. (12) Place safety eyes after Rnd 10 and approx. 7 stitches apart. Stuff head with fiberfill. Start of Body. Rnd 20: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (18) Rnd 21: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (24) Rnd 22-27: sc around. (24) Start of first leg.  Rnd 28: sc 12. (12) continue next rnd from 1st st of Rnd 28. Rnd 29-30: sc around. (12) Start of Boots.  Change to black yarn. Rnd 31: sc around on front loop only. (12) Rnd 32: sc around. (12) Change to red yarn. Rnd 33: sc around. (12) Change to black yarn. Rnd 34-35: sc around. (12)  Rnd 36: sc 2, 2 sc in next sc 6 times, sc 4. (18) Rnd 37-38: sc around. (18) Stuff fiberfill. Rnd 39: *dec 1, sc 1*, repeat around. (12) Rnd 40: *dec 1*, repeat around. (6) F/O.  Start of second leg. Fasten golden orange yarn onto inner crotch. Rnd 28: sc 12. (12) continue next rnd from 1st st of Rnd 28. Rnd 29-30: sc around. (12) Start of Boots.  Change to black yarn. Rnd 31: sc around on front loop only. (12) Rnd 32: sc around. (12) Change to red yarn. Rnd 33: sc around. (12) Change to black yarn. Rnd 34-35: sc around. (12)  Rnd 36: sc 4, 2 sc in next sc 6 times, sc 2. (18) Rnd 37-38: sc around. (18) Stuff fiberfill. Rnd 39: *dec 1, sc 1*, repeat around. (12) Rnd 40: *dec 1*, repeat around. (6) F/O.

Golden Orange Yarn.

Ears: (make 2)

Golden Orange Yarn.

Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (8) Rnd 3: sc around. (8) Rnd 4: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, sc 2. (10) Rnd 5: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, sc 1. (13) F/O.   

Tail:

Golden Orange Yarn.

Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2-18: sc around. (6) Optional: Stuff fiberfill. F/O. 

Snout: 

White Yarn.

Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12) Rnd 3-4: sc around. (12) F/O.  

Belly Fur: 

White Yarn.

Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12) Rnd 3: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (18) F/O. 

Hat:

Black and Red Yarn.

Starting with black yarn. Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12) Rnd 3: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (18) Rnd 4: *sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (24) Rnd 5-8: sc around. (24) Rnd 9: *sc 3, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (30) Rnd 10: *sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (36) Rnd 11: *2 sc in next sc, sc 5*, repeat around. (42) Rnd 12: *2 sc in next sc, sc 6*, repeat around. (48) Rnd 13: *2 sc in next sc, sc 7*, repeat around. (54) Change to red yarn.  Rnd 14: sc around. (54) Change to black yarn. Rnd 15: sc around. Hat - Red String: 

Red Yarn.

Ch 25. Row 1: sc 2nd ch from hook across. (24) F/O.

Belt: 

Black Yarn.

Ch 25. Row 1: sc 2nd ch from hook across. (24) F/O.  

Assembling: (refer to pictures)

• Using pink yarn and yarn needle, embroider a nose on the snout.
• Using white yarn to make the whiskers. The method used is called “Lag Hook”. Click “Here” to learn more about this method. 
• Sew on the snout between Rnd 11 and Rnd 17 of the head. Stuff fiberfill as you sew. 
• Using white yarn and yarn needle, sew on the eyebrows after Rnd 7 and Rnd 9 of head (approx 5 stitches apart). 
• Sew on the white piece of belly fur between Rnd 20 and Rnd 27 of body. 
• Sew on the ears after Rnd 3 on the head. 
• Sew on the belt after Rnd 25 of body. Cut out a small piece of white felt as shown in the picture as the buckle. 
• Sew on the tail at the back of the body as shown in the picture.
• Sew on the arms on both side of the body. 
• And lastly, secure the hat - red string onto the hat.
