Amigurumi crochet pattern to make this cute Rwandan doll and her baby !

MINIYOU dolls were born back in 2019, when I went on a one month trip to Rwanda. At that time, the first prototype was named “Minime”, and I made her to be able to make photos of the trip without a selfie stick. I really loved making her clothes matching mine and giving her realistic poses in the pictures and I thought I would probably not be the only one enjoying making a smaller version of myself or any loved one ! That’s why I’m now making a “Miniyou” series in which I hope a lot of crocheters out there will find their mini version.

During this trip, I also made a Rwandan version of Miniyou, to pay tribute to this country that welcomed me during 6 years of my adolescence, so here it is ! I hope you'll enjoy making her :)

░ MATERIALS ░

► Sport weight (DK) cotton yarn - I used Phildar Phil coton 3 and Scheepjes Catona
Note: You can use any yarn you wish, just keep in mind that you’ll need to adapt your crochet hook size, and that the finished doll size will vary.
C1: skin color +/- 80gr (catona 507, 162 or 157)
C2: black (hair and eyes). +/- 25gr
C3/C4/C5/C6: (wrap skirt)
C7: white (blouse)
►A 2.5 mm hook (C/2)
►A tapestry needle (or yarn needle)
►A stitch marker
►Stuffing (fiberfill)
►A wooden stick (like a skewer stick) to help with the stuffing
►(optional but recommended) fabric glue
►(optional) 2 pieces of fabric of 45x15cm to make the baby carrier and the hair scarf
►Embroidery thread and a suitable needle to embroider the baby’s eyes.
►A hair tie

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, double crochet
Measurement: 32cm high (13 inches)
