The fallow deer family – Amigurumi deer / reindeer / fawn crochet pattern.
Pattern includes 1 adult deer and 1 fawn (baby) deer.
The two adult deers shown on the pictures are done with exact same pattern. Just skip the antlers on the female deer.
The pattern is straight forward and easy to follow. There is lots of step by step images, especially on the special parts. You need to know the basic crochet skill for amigurumi, especially how to work in rounds or spiral. Some examples of stitches; single crochet, increases and decreases. And also how to do color changes and assembly pieces.
Materials required:
- Yarn – I used a cotton Sport weight yarn; Drops Safran. For light brown color you will use 1 skein for one adult deer and baby deer. But to be sure have at least 1,5 skeins, and if you planning to make two adult deers, then have at least 2 skeins. The other colors it is enough with half skeins.
- Crochet hook 2.0 mm
- Fibrefill / toy stuffing
- Security eyes, 6 mm
- Stitch marker, scissor and embroidery needle
- Optional: Furry metallic wire/pipe cleansers (for the antlers)
Colors: Drops Safran in Light Brown (22), Off White (18), Coffee (68).
Stitches used: magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, double crochet
Measurement: Adult deer (without antlers): 16 cm (6,3 in.) in height and 14 cm (5,5 in.) in length. Fawn deer: 12 cm
