Making a Gingerbread House with yarn and a crochet hook or baking a sweet and crunchy house with loads of sugar decorations are both a challenge. But this one doesn’t disappears after the Christmas lunch!
This is an 8 pages PDF crochet/amigurumi pattern (with step by step photos) - Available in English (US terms).
Materials (not provided)
- fingering weight cotton yarn in caramel and white (yarn used for this sample is Sesia Cablè 5, 50g/215m)
- size 7 (1,5 mm) crochet hook
- polystyrene sheets (5 mm thick)
- cardboard (1 or 2 mm thick)
- sewing pins
- tapestry needle
Skill level: advanced
Notes: to make this crochet house isn’t necessary to use the recommended yarn and crochet hook. Using a larger crochet hook, and suitable yarn, the amigurumi will be bigger preserving the same proportions.
Construction: The house is formed by 5 main pieces (front, back, base + side facades and 2 roof pieces) and all the decorations. All the pieces are worked separately and then sewn to the polystyrene structure.
